NYSE Composite index 8-day sma progress, as of April 3, 2013:

$9066.75 = today's NYA 8-day sma value ... slightly below the 2013 high for this moving average

the moving average is now relatively flat again after a few days of slightly rising , following a multi-week flattening event for the moving average
