i see that the conduit from god to the catholic masses hung up his dress today. He may no longer be the conduit, but i think he still qualifies as a tool.

I visualize him retiring to a life of walking the beach somewhere on the Mediterranean in plaid Bermuda shorts, black socks and sandals, diligently hunched over his metal detector instead of a sceptor.

Giving up his Popemobile, which protected him from bullets since apparently trusting god to do so was a precarious choice, must have been a tough call.
