Perhaps this will help:
X convertible preferred shares EQUALS Y common shares.
Correct?
That is saying that if one has 25 apples and the conversion is 1 apple for 20 oranges, then the 25 apples can be exchanged for 500 oranges.
Now if I have 400 apples, how many oranges can I trade them for?
Sounds like an ALGEBRAIC manipulation to me. It's called "ratio and proportions" in ALGEBRA.
Your ALGEBRA is still WRONG, imo-
