In 2014, Lee's Pow! Entertainment company will also introduce a live-action superhero-themed musical in Macao, and is in talks to develop a Chinese female superhero.

Stan Lee's Mighty 7 to become a film

Raft of licensing deals unveiled for original comic book series.

A2 Entertainment and Stan Lee's Pow Entertainment have revealed a number of new licensing and branded content deals for Stan Lee's Mighty 7.

A highlight is that a feature film will have its worldwide TV premiere next year on The Hub TV network, acting as a springboard for a potential future TV series. Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment will handle home video distribution.

In addition, Hot Topic and GreenSource will introduce an exclusive Slam 7 apparel programme in 2013.

Archie Comics, publisher of Stan Lee's Mighty 7 comic book, also revealed another series of original Slam 7 comic books which will continue to be released every other month through 2013.

"We are honoured to be associated with the legend, Stan Lee," said A2 Entertainment's Andy Heyward. "This new comic book property has all of the elements to be a worldwide phenomenon and we're excited to be a true partner to Stan."

Lionsgate launches Stan Lee original

Lionsgate has picked up feature rights to an original superhero property from Stan Lee that Alfred Gough and Miles Millar will write, direct and produce through their Millar/Gough Ink shingle.
Details of the untitled project are being kept under wraps, but it's described as a multigenerational superhero movie that spans several decades.

Lee and Gil Champion will produce through their POW! Entertainment banner, which has a deal at Disney.

The comicbook vet approached Gough and Millar with the superhero concept after becoming a fan of "Smallville" and collaborating with the two scribes on "Spider-Man 2."

In addition to the "Spider-Man" sequel, Millar/Gough Ink's credits include the scripts for Disney's "Shanghai Noon," its sequel "Shanghai Nights" and DreamWorks' "I Am Number Four." For Disney, they are also producing "Zed," which Susannah Grant is scripting based on the final days of Texas high school theater teacher Lynn Shaw.

The duo also is in the midst of producing the Sylvester Stallone actioner "Bullet to the Head," based on the French graphic novel "Du Plomb Dans La Tete," that Warner Bros. will release next year.

For TV, Gough and Millar were showrunners on this season's "Charlie's Angels," for ABC, and oversaw the CW's "Smallville," which recently ended its 10-year run.

Lee, who created Marvel's Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men and the Incredible Hulk characters, recently also locked down Dan Gilroy ("Real Steel") to adapt his comicbook "The Annihilator" into a bigscreen actioner aimed at Asian markets.
