Alabama’s official state website, www.alabama.gov, was recently honored for its sleek, user-friendly design, receiving the Silver Award by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. This year marks the second, consecutive year Alabama.gov has been recognized in the government website category of the Davey Awards. The international Davey Awards honor extraordinary creative work from the top small firms around the globe.
Alabama.gov is the official government Web portal for the State of Alabama (http://www.alabama.gov). The Alabama.gov team is dedicated to developing online services to enable citizens and businesses alike to complete tasks efficiently. The Alabama.gov site design and functionality were developed at no cost to the State.
“This year’s winners truly represent a smart, nimble approach to creativity and embody the quick thinking, resourceful nature that make small agencies so unique” noted Linda Day, Executive Director of the IAVA. She added, “On behalf of the entire International Academy of Visual Arts, I want to thank this year’s Davey Awards entrants and winners for sharing their amazing capabilities and talents, allowing us to once again highlight the best small firms worldwide.”
This is the fourth award Alabama.gov has received this year. In September, the site took first place in the Best of the Web competition which ranks the Top 10 state websites in the country. The site also received the Gold Award of Excellence for the 18th annual Communicator Awards, which honor excellence in marketing and communications; and the Web Marketing Association recently named Alabama.gov the Best Government Website in its 16th annual WebAward Competition.
About the Davey Awards
The Davey Awards exclusively honor the “Davids” of creativity, the finest small firms, agencies and companies in the world. David defeated the giant Goliath with a big idea and a little rock - the sort of thing small firms do each year. The annual International Davey Awards honors the achievements of the "Creative Davids" who derive their strength from big ideas, rather than big budgets. The Davey Awards is the leading awards competition specifically for smaller firms, where firms compete with their peers to win the recognition they deserve. Please visit www.daveyawards.com for more information.
The Davey Awards is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. Please visit www.iavisarts.org for a full member list and more information. For more information about the state of Alabama, please visit www.alabama.gov.
