conix .. a higher minimum wage means more money in circulation so better for the economy, also fewer poor .. that has been my sense since whenever .. don't know if it's 100% right, but have never been told it's a nonsense concept .. yet, conservatives in Australia have attacked the concept of and the increasing of consistently, and the review body that considers it each year ..

see Gina Rineheart posts this board to see how stupid some are.

The national minimum wage acts as a safety net for employees in the national workplace relations
system to provide minimum rates of pay for employees not covered by awards or agreements.
National minimum wage orders are made by the Minimum Wage Panel of Fair Work Australia.

Australia's minimum wage is $15.96 per hour or $606.40 per week. Generally, employees in the national system shouldn't get less than this. .. http://www.fairwork.gov.au/pay/national-minimum-wage/pages/default.aspx

.. some awards would have higher am sure .. hmm .. $606.40/$15.96 = 37.99... so must be for a 38 hour week ..

.. pay and conditions have been slowly eroded, yet thank sod and goodness, our minimum
wage is still roughly 2X that in the USA .. qualification on that .. i wish yours was higher ..
