Or maybe it’s just an advocacy group for those making $250k whose taxes would go up (to Clinton era levels) if Obama gets his way. But the tea partiers insist they are a grassroots organization and not a front for a bunch of rich people.

Fair enough. But are taxes really the problem? Can you really bring down the deficit without raising taxes? Has that EVER happened over the long or medium term? And if it requires spending cuts, what SPECIFICALLY should we cut, given that these same tea partiers demand a “strong national defense” (which costs lots of money) and nearly rioted over proposals to cut Medicare Advantage. Do they honestly think there is enough “waste, fraud and abuse” to wring out that will bring the deficit down on its own? Or do they even care about deficits?

What angers me most about the tea partiers is that their priorities are so utterly distorted.

But it is difficult to believe that Ryan’s budget was written by the same guy who wrote this paper. Because in Ryan’s budget, Social Security is untouched. The cuts to Medicaid and other health programs for the poor are twice the size of those to Medicare. The cuts to education, to food stamps, to transportation infrastructure and to pretty much everything else besides defense are draconian. As for the tax reform component, it cuts taxes on millionaires by more than $250,000, but it doesn’t name a single loophole or tax break that Ryan and the Republicans would close.

In the end, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimates that 62 percent of the cuts come from programs for
low-income Americans and 37 percent of the tax benefits go to the few Americans earning more than $1 million.

Myst..., i know you won't read them all, you have shown clearly in the past you don't .. the thing is CLEARLY the Republicans have cared squat about job creation during the Obama years .. they COULDN'T as some honchos agreed at the Caucus Room Restaurant on Obama's inauguration day to DO EVERYTHING they could to make Obama a one-term president .. that MUST logically include not contributing anything toward job creation .. why can't you accept what is slapping you in the face? .. as well, how could they do contribute to job creation with their focus on abortion, with their war against women's rights .. you can only fit so much in a day, right? ..

Seriously, Ryan wants to cut EVERYTHING which benefits the poor, the middle class and the elderly .. Obama being of course much more empathetic to the struggles of Ryan is .. careful, before you blah blah on that one even Bloomberg acknowledges it

Obama knows there are other ways to approach the deficit .. it's an absolute nonsense that you and your ilk whine about your deficit, yet oppose Obamacare which cuts it long-term .. your Republican's do fuck all for job creation, yet there are taxes in employment which provide government with revenue .. course 'Starve The Beast' gets in the way, eh .. you whine about the deficit yet you ignore analysis of Ryan's plan which suggests Obama's policies do more toward decreasing it

PS: i know YOU have had the opportunity before to consider the RepubliCON'S abysmal lack of focus
