All about the ragman and his attacks on gtgp and jim and his credentials.people asked for proof, here it is.from MOntana paper.

Given Butte's colorful past, Isaacson may not be the first convicted felon to run for chief executive, but he is the first in recent memory.

In 1973, Isaacson pleaded guilty in St. Louis, Mo., to inter state transportation of cashier's checks. He was sen tenced to eight years in federal prison, but spent only 500 days in the U.S. Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Ind., and the rest of the sentence on parole, he said. The incident also cost him his license to practice law.

In 1980, Isaacson was charged in Cascade County District Court with six felony counts related to the manage ment and operation of “ Masterpiece Series,” a Great Falls business that brought plays and other shows to town. In a plea agreement, he plead ed guilty to one count of decep tive practices involving credit card overcharges and one count of issuing a bad check.

He was sentenced to con finement in the Montana State Prison for 10 years on each count to run consecutively, with all but five years suspend ed. Deer Lodge prison records indicate he was incarcerated from July 15, 1981, until he was paroled on April 26, 1982, and moved to Butte. Records fur ther show he was on probation from 1984 to 1994.

During an interview for an earlier story, Isaacson said, “ Everybody in this town`s aware of my felony back ground. It's public record and people make terrible mistakes, and when they do, people put their lives back together and move on.”
