Notice was given by Dominion to the Texas state authorities of the intention
to commence installation operations on 3 July 2012. On the same day, the
lift-boat departed from Galveston. It arrived at Mustang Island on 4 July
where it performed sonar sweeps around the jacket location. The sonar sweep is
used to identify any obstructions or impediments that would hinder or obstruct
the pile driving operation. Several pieces of old riser, railings and old
pipeline parts were identified and removed by a crew of divers.

Following this procedure, the lift-boat moved approximately 475 feet to the
tie-in point to the existing 10-inch line. The line was located by the divers,
a trench was jetted out to facilitate the installation of the sub sea tie in
point and a surface buoy was placed to mark the location.

The lift-boat then headed back to Aransas Pass. It is expected to return to
the platform location later today along with the barge transporting the
jacket. Pile driving operations are expected to commence shortly thereafter.

Load-out of the second barge containing the platform itself has been
completed; it is anticipated that it will be towed to the area later in the
week by a supply boat.

Further updates will be provided as the work progresses.

Processors Loaded – A Great Day!
Loading the Offshore Processing Facility on Barge
July 4th, 2012:

When the divers finish their task (today) we will review the magnetometer survey of the sea floor and debris.

Once the surveyors are ready, and the sea floor has been cleaned (today), we will confirm the coordinates for the rig platform and pass it to the engineers (tomorrow). The engineers will then commence work on connecting the 10-inch flow line from the well to the main transmission line that takes the oil and gas ashore (about 500 feet from the wellhead).

The onshore facility that will receive the oil and gas is the Six Pigs Facility on Padre Island.

Offshore Processing Facility Loaded on Barge

Today, at Port Aransas, the lift boat completed the check of all measurements on the jacket and deck legs. It is awaiting departure to the I-1 site from Port Aransas.

The weather looks reasonable for the next few days so the maximum amount of work will take place in a good weather window.

Two Barges, Lifeboat “DULARGE” Mobilized
July 3rd, 2012

Progress continues!

The lift boat, “Dularge”, has now left with the pilings and is heading to Port Aransas, TX. It will join the first barge, carrying the jacket which is now ready to be rotated.

Incidentally, the second barge arrived from Louisiana into Galveston, TX and is loading (today) also in the Laredo yard. It is set to depart tomorrow for Port Aransas, TX, Wednesday, 4 July.

The divers are at sea and in progress of clearing the bottom of the I-1 well area for debris. They are also preparing the set-up of the 10-inch flow line to tie-into the main transmission line.

Weather is good and all is moving ahead well at this stage of the operation.

Divers Begin Clearing Seafloor
June 30th, 2012

Laredo Lift Boat

The first barge (one of two barges), containing the jacket, has been loaded and is on the way to the I-1.

Once it arrives, at the staging port at Aransas Pass, TX, the jacket will be rotated to the vertical position then offloaded. When offloaded, it will be positioned on the sea floor and pile driving will commence.

Lift Boat with Pilings

Continuing our mobilization, Laredo (our offshore operator), continues the mobilization of the second barge from their shipyard in Galveston, TX. Once the final inspections are complete, this barge will be towed from Amelia, LA to Galveston, TX on Sunday arriving Monday 2 July. It will be outfitted with two large cranes for removal of the items detected with the magnetometer.

Additionally, a lift boat is being mobilized to carry the pilings required to secure the jacket. It will also carry additional modules needed for the platform and deck extension.

Weather for the coming week is reasonable; however, there may be afternoon squalls with associated wind and thunderstorms that could impede pile driving.

On Our Way To the I-1!
June 29th, 2012

The I-1 Well

Finally, the weather has given us a break!

A dive boat loaded with a magnetometer will leave Aransas Pass, TX on Friday heading out to the I-1 near Mustang Island, TX. The divers will use the magnetometer to locate old pipe and other debris/impediments within the boundaries of the site, identified on the sonar survey.
Once located, cranes will be used for removal of same.

Magnetometer Survey Shot

Additionally, the jacket (the lower section, or legs, of the offshore platform upon which the equipment is housed) is having additional clamps welded-on today to minimize any unwarranted fluid loss. It will be loaded onto a large barge and sent on its way to The Port of Aransas, TX.

It is now safe to say mobilization has commenced! It looks like pile driving into the sea floor, to support the foundation and structure, should start early next week.
