PositiveID Corporation develops molecular diagnostic systems focused on airborne bio-threat detection and rapid medical testing, and unique medical devices focused on diabetes management. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Microfluidic Systems, or MFS, is focused on the development of microfluidic systems for the automated preparation of and performance of biological assays in order to detect biological threats at high-value locations, as well as analyze samples in a medical environment.

Businessweek Article Identifies $3.1 Billion Contract; PositiveID and Northrop Grumman Named as Top Potential Candidates to Win Contract - In an article dated June 21, 2012 in Bloomberg Businessweek The Sky-High Price of Sniffing Out Anthrax, it states, “Now that PositiveID and Northrop Grumman say they’ve worked through these problems, Homeland Security wants to open bidding on a $3.1 billion contract for the labs-in-a-box before October.” Businessweek Article dated 06-21-12. Total estimates to buy and maintain new sensors have surged to $5.7 billion.

One of Two Known Players for Major Government Contract - PositiveID’s M-Band Molecular Diagnostic System is one of only two known devices that can fill the U.S. government’s need for automatic detection of airborne bio-threats. We cannot stress enough how big the potential is here. If PositiveID is chosen for the award, the underlying stock of PSID could shoot to well over $1 per share.

Dragonfly - PositiveID's MicroFluidic Systems division has developed a series of microfluidic cartridges for biological sample processing and detection. Examples include differential extraction cartridges, sample processing and amplification for biodefense applications, and clinical sample processing and detection. The microfluidic cartridge approach has many distinct advantages that include: low cost, disposable, easy to use, prevents sample to sample contamination, fast results, portable, automated, and prevents human error.

FDA Clears iglucose™ - PositiveID received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") for its iglucose™ mobile health system for diabetes management last November, and will commercially launch the product this quarter. iglucose uses mobile technology to revolutionize the way individuals with diabetes manage their condition. This makes it possible to improve care in a cost-effective manner and help loved ones manage their diabetes.

More Products in Diabetes Management – PositiveID is actively developing other products for the massive diabetes management market. Currently under development in Israel, Easy Check is a non-invasive breath glucose detection device that measures the level of acetone in a patient's exhaled breath and correlates that acetone level to a measure of blood glucose. Also, the GlucoChip is a bio-sensor system that is essentially an implantable, bio-sensing RFID microchip that measures glucose levels in the body in real time.
