The equity is clearly on the side of the small inventor who does not engage in manufacturing. It is time to make the bullies show their hold cards. The FRAND defense is being abused by those who make money producing and selling standard compliant products. The small inventor is being squeazed and called a patent troll at the same time. Enough is enough. Fight with facts, not claims construction. The cartel members agreed to license any contributions accepted into the standards. Most have set their rates with themselves. Now we have the computer and internet crowd entering the wireless sector because the small inventors have made it possible. They are purchasing the patents of others, but do not want to honor the prior licensing commitments made by the former owners as members of the standards bodies. This is wrong. These are worldwide standards and the entire sector needs cleaning up. The standards bodies should get involved in order to insure that future standards are not substandard due to a lack of participation by those being stonewalled.
