Back in 2006 when Brandhuber stepped down as CEO, followed shortly thereafter by Luca, I was told that someone applied for the CEO position, was rejected, and has been trying to "get even" with the company ever since. More recently I was told by a different person that the same guy attempted to join the BOD and was again rejected.

I don't know if any of it is accurate, but I'll bet that guy is really annoyed by the rejection(s).
