MWWC is part of the only good news today...

http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2012/06/01/038126-ford-motor-company-posts-gains-across-cars-utilities-trucks-may.html

America's top-selling vehicle for 30 years, the Ford F-Series pickup posted May sales of 54,836 pickups, a 29 percent increase versus last May. E-Series delivered a 31 percent increase with 14,160 vans sold. Transit Connect had its best monthly sales performance ever with 3,937 vans sold, a 53 percent gain versus last May.

Fusion posted its best May sales ever and its strongest-ever retail sales month with sales up 9 percent at 26,857 vehicles. Focus was up 11 percent, with its strongest sales coming from California. Mustang and Taurus increased 58 (percent) and 9 percent, respectively, with the rollout of new 2013 model products leading the way.

Detroit's Big Three posted double-digit gains in vehicles sales in May, with Chrysler Group LLC leading the way with a 30 percent jump in year-over-year sales for the month.

Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. showed it was back in the game, reporting its sales were up 72.9 percent on a daily selling rate basis and 87.3 percent on an unadjusted raw volume basis.

(Toyota's disaster was the catylist for MWW's big drop, but they're back.)

Ford fueled by F-series pickup (That's us!!!)

Ford Motor Co. said its U.S. sales were up 13 percent in May, with car sales up 6 percent, SUVs up 12 percent and truck sales jumping 21 percent. The company also said it plans to build 690,000 vehicles during the third quarter, up 5 percent or 34,000 vehicles from the same quarter in 2011.

GM said sales of small and compact cars were up 16 percent, with strong sales coming from the Chevy Sonic and Buick Verano. Crossover sales across all brands increased 14 percent from a year ago, and full-size pickup sales climbed 23 percent, mid-sized pickup sales rose 34 percent and SUV sales were up 14 percent.

(Chevy Sonic... THAT'S US!!!)

Toyota sales increase

Toyota, which sold 202,793 units in May, experienced "a stunning year-over-year percentage increase," said Michelle Krebs, a senior analyst with Edmunds.com.

"Remember where Toyota was a year ago, however, largely without much product to sell because of the earthquake and tsunami. Ford held the No. 2 sales spot over Toyota, a position that looked to be at risk," she said.

Mulally said Wednesday Ford will continue boosting production this year, acknowledging that crimps in the parts supply chain are among the challenges that will prevent it from making as many cars and trucks as it wants — at least in the short run.

("crimps in the parts supply chain" MWWC is a part of that chain and "crimpS" indicates that the whole chain is affected. This explains that there are VALID delays; not just excuses.
"...at least in the short run." ...means there will be a resolution.

"We have limits on our production as we're going up, because as we restructure the entire business, we're bringing along the entire supply chain, so we really can't make as many vehicles as people want right now."

"Within the next two quarters," Mulally said, "we'll be adding all the third shifts and the extra production so by the end of the year, we'll be able to produce the amount of vehicles that people want.

"But we'll take a hit in the near term — just because we're limited in production."

I have linked to the articles so you can read them in their entirety; please do.

Remember, most of the auto (and Industrial) sector has shifted to a JIT (Just In Time) supply chain; meaning they don't take delivery of parts until they are needed, in order to cut down on a huge inventory of not-yet-needed parts. This explains the validity of the delays. These delays have been much more than excuse-making and some "scam" as some have claimed. This is business and can't always work on the impatient time-line that some posters here have expected. But things are looking good.

MWWC is now in production for Ford (F-150), GM (Sonic), Toyoto, and Mazda at a time when end production is soaring. This is some potentially GREAT news for THIS quarter!
