Florida man to plead guilty after threatening to ‘put a bullet through’ Obama’s head

A Miami-Dade College student is expected to plead guilty on Wednesday of threatening to assassinate President Barack Obama.

Court records obtained by The Associated Press indicated that 20-year-old Joaquin Amador Serrapio Jr. will enter a plea of guilty after initially telling the court he was not guilty.

A Secret Service investigation earlier this year concluded that Serrapio posted threats to Facebook under the alias “Jay Valor” prior to a visit the president made to the University of Miami.

“Who wants to help me assassinate Obummer while he’s at UM this week?” a Feb. 21 posting asked.

“If anyones going to UM to see obama today, get ur phones out and record. Cause at any moment im gonna put a bullet through his head and u don’t wanna miss that! Youtube!” Serrapio allegedly wrote on Feb. 23.

After being tipped off by the the Coral Gables Police Department, Secret Service agents went to Serrapio’s home and found an iPad open to the Facebook posting.

A search of his phone revealed more disturbing messages.

“I know I can b killed by this communist administration and im challenging them. Lets see what these *expletive* got,” one text message said.

When a friend wondered if the Secret Service might be on to him, Serrapio replied, “I hope :) I wanna kill at least two of them when they get here.”

The student could face up to five years in prison.
