The first one is the Corporate Presentation 2011 uploaded in November and this one holds a clear road map on page 18.

ODIS Inc. Progresses Toward a POET Technology Roadmap
http://opelinc.com/news/odis-inc-progresses-toward-a-poet-technology-roadmap/
"... pleased to announce significant progress made this quarter by ODIS Inc., a U.S. Company, regarding POET as it pertains to its advancements in Optical Interconnection of High Speed Circuits. ODIS’ recent Milestone achievements when successfully added to the POET platform under development, will make it possible for the first time to implement an optical interface as a single chip to connect existing CMOS processors ..."
They made advancements, but to me and many others its not clear which one of 3 steps for Q1 were reached. If I try to read between the lines and look at Optical Interconnection of High Speed Circuits, and then look at step 4 & 5 they both use words like "optical component & optical modulator ... interconnect". But I'm not sure if these milestone(s) are accomplished.

" ... ODIS’s optical interface chip will integrate a Laser, Optical Modulator, Modulator Driver, Detector, Receiver Amplifiers, SerDes (Serializer & Deserializer), CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) and PLL (Phase Locked Loops) circuits monolithically on a single chip. ..."

(WP) Optical Interconnection of High Speed Circuits

This above package of technical components (in bold) will have the edge on what the competitor's are working on. This is outlined in the White Paper (WP), that serves as the new road map. First they describe what the competitors's are working on now, and in the ODIS Solution (near term) they describe that the combined package of components will be better than their direct competitor's. But to me its still not certain which components or achievements were validated, as outlined in the 8-step Targeted Development Milestones presentation. The WP describes more or less what has to be done, but not which of the Milestones were actually reached. It would be very simple for OPL to update the 8-step representation with what "Milestone achievements" were accomplished but for some reason they refuse to do it. To me, and this is mere my own personal interpretation, the funding of DoD was scaled back after OPL released the first road map with that 8-step picture. That caused unexpected delays in the anticipated project line of that 8-step picture. In fact the government stopped funding the very important project and OPL had to find alternative funding methods, hence the $5 mil LOC with an immediate withdrawal of $850k to start the project up again. IMO, OPL learned of this canceled DoD funding very late in 2011, and to me the whole project is therefore delayed with at least one full quarter, if not 4 months. Because they only received the $850k half way thru April, and that is why I underlined the singular form of Milestone.
Also, what is "near term & long term" as described in the WP?
I much more prefer the graphical representation of the 8-step picture, even if this means confronting us with the actual delays. If the long term process is 8 years, then 2 years can be considered as near term. Although I am convinced that 8 & 2 years is nowhere near to where they are now, as I only wrote this to show how loosely "near & long term" can be interpreted. Maybe the near term is 6 months and the long term 2 years... as you can see that doesn't provide us with a clear view of where we at right now. What do they have to lose by updating that 8-step picture, they're protected with the Forward looking statements & the Disclaimer that explicitly mentions that delays are bound to happen?!
This needs to be addressed by them one way or the other!
As switching from one road map to another didn't help at all in explaining their verifiable progress & achievements...
