No patent, even if there was a patent it would have expired over 100 years ago.
But wonder of wonders, Coca Cola has kept the formula a trade secret all these years.
Many catalyst formula/formulations are kept as trade secrets.
Many formulas/formulations are patented, mostly by universities which hope to sell them in to the open market.
The ones kept as trade secrets are developed by the end users for internal use, very much like JBI has done.
