Two separate teams of four Senior Engineering Students at UT Austin are collaborating with the Austin Green Energy Group on two different R&D Projects for Building Turbines, Inc. The first team is continuing the turbine evaluation and data acquisition project started last fall by AGEG and UT, along with making recommendations for improved design efficiencies and energy output optimizations. The second team will generate a critique of wind turbine mechanics and evaluate the viability of creating an Omni Directional Turbines made from BT's patented sail material design as well as the Structural Analysis and further enhancements to existing wind turbines.

The MEDP program, which embraces a public-private partnership between the university and commercial enterprise, provides mechanical engineering students with hands-on, practical applications experience while the sponsoring company enjoys the benefit of having a team of engineering seniors evaluating every aspect of the company's product design, components, specifications, operability, cost structure and overall commercial potential.
