I'm still trying to get to the bottom of my software issues. Here are my notes from today for future reference. It will be stored in the iBox. The problem is most commonly caused by corrupt workspace file or files.


Steps for trouble shooting error messages that pop up over charts in TOS. If this does not isolate the problem to a Workspace file then contact Tech Support or reinstall program.

Close TOS;
Right click on ThinkorSwim icon;
Click on Open File Location;
Delete UserGui Folder;
Delete Cache files;
Delete Workspace files (back up ones you want to keep in another location or thumbdrive);
Make sure Studies are also backed up in another location outside of TOS.
Open TOS (may take a few minutes while it recreates files);
Copy current workspace folder into TOS folder;
Use TOS and see if problems have gone away or persist;

If problems continue then, delete all workspace folders and recreate your workspace folders;
Use TOS and see if problems have gone away or persist;

If problems persist, call Tech Support. Reinstalling TOS may be required at this point.
