Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc. (Omega) is a self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT), investing in income-producing healthcare facilities, principally long-term care facilities located throughout the United States. The Company provides lease or mortgage financing to qualified operators of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and, to a lesser extent, assisted living facilities (ALFs), independent living facilities (ILFs) and rehabilitation and acute care facilities. As of March 31, 2011, its portfolio of investments consisted of 400 healthcare facilities located in 35 states and operated by 50 third-party operators. This portfolio included 371 SNFs, 10 ALFs and five specialty facilities; fixed rate mortgages on 13 long-term healthcare facilities, and one closed SNF held-for-sale. On June 9, 2010, it acquired CapitalSource subsidiaries owning 63 long-term care facilities and CapitalSource subsidiaries owning 40 long-term care facilities.
