fuagf -- that one's easy, on the obvious, inarguable facts -- Ryan's plan would indeed end Medicare, the still largely single-payer universal health coverages setup that effectively guarantees care for folks of a certain age -- replacing that setup with capped-in-amount vouchers to help pay for any and all health coverages (if and) as offered and priced by minimally-regulated and highly-concentrated private insurers wouldn't be 'Medicare' any more than shooting folks as soon as they couldn't continue to work efficiently would be, whatever the hell they call it, 'Medicare' or anything else -- there is no 'argument' there; any suggestion Ryan's plan wouldn't end Medicare is pure bullshit, that's it, period, end of analysis

think I saw a NYT piece "R.I.P. Politifact" -- certainly would fit as far as I'm concerned; already considered their earlier stuff not very well composed/at times obviously wishy-washy -- in particular where the fact, the ongoing context, is that the GOP has for many years now been centrally dedicated to the Big Lie not just as tactic but as strategy (including the cherry-on-top touches such as certifiable psychotics like Allen West projecting the same onto Democrats [ http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1211/70564.html ]), and that accordingly each year there have been countless outrageous falsehoods systematically promulgated by (and on behalf of) the GOP that dwarf in kind any mere hyperbole or misstatement that has been coming from the Dems, this instance utterly destroys whatever 'reality-based' cred Politifact might have had -- sorry folks, you just blew yourselves up, nothing-left-but-red-mist-style; it's over, never gonna get back any cred, not after this
