Dock...I saw that the other day but sometimes it gets a little confusing as far as 'eff' measurements are concerned...per their varying descriptions...like this one from Dr's Wong & Jabbour http://apl.aip.org/resource/1/applab/v99/i22/p223515_s1?isAuthorized=no
I posted some some links on this 114% finding the other day in post#9536 but I thought the 114% was referring to the boosted conversion ratio of photons to electrons , not the 'total aggregate' eff output of the cell itself. We've heard of a 'theoretical' limit of 40 to 60% (depending on the source) but nothing anywhere close to a 114% 'total'...really quite amazing if it's referring to the total cell eff.
I saw another more-descriptive article on this today..."The cell used to achieve the photocurrent of 114 was a layered cell which consisted of antireflection-coated glass, a transparent conductor, a nanostructured zinc oxide layer, a quantum dot layer and a thin layer of gold on top." http://inhabitat.com/researchers-create-super-efficient-solar-cell-emits-more-energy-particles-than-it-absorbs/
Pretty nifty either way...now I'd like to see 1,000's of these little buggers spread across the Sahara w/ QMC/Solterra tattoo'd all over them.
