arizona1 -- coupla close calls already, of course -- mass demonstrations no matter how resolutely non-violent are, seemingly inevitably, at least occasionally met with violence, as we've seen now from coast to coast this time
the extent of the security state militarization of the police, including integration with/into security state intelligence/surveillance as well as equipment, training and tactics, a big issue OWS or no OWS, certainly is being highlighted -- again the echo, this one quite loud, of Franklin's "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." ( http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Benjamin_Franklin ) -- anyway --
if/as the demonstrations continue/grow, there will of course certainly be many more injuries, probably some deaths, possibly more than just a few -- concerned not only by the excessive police responses, which hopefully will but well might not manage to continue to stop (just) short of killing people, but also by the potential for acts by hard-right types, in particular if/as this whole thing becomes more organized and visible in more locations -- the relentless shamelessly lying demonization of any and all in any way involved in or 'tied' to this by Fox and Limbaugh and Beck and all the rest on the right is an absolutely deliberate fanning of the flames that sets the table
