U.S. Navy is in the race now as well. In May 2011 U.S. Navy made a Phase II SBIR grant to Enginetec. The design is loosely in same category as MHYR technology and Bill Gates OPOC engines. Unfortunately for Enginetec, Phase II grants top out at 1 million- venture capital not in the same league compared to what Bill Gates or the Redmond brothers are putting into this race.
