MGRN-The Cuyani Region

Happy Reading

The Cuyuni river is one of the significant rivers in eastern Venezuela and also in northern Guyana. The Cuyuni river is a notable tributary of the river Essequibo and meets it at Bartica. The entire length of the Cuyuni river is 563 kilometers and it serves many valuable purposes. Utility of Cuyuni River The Cuyuni river is useful to inhabitants of the country in many ways. According to research it has been proved that the entire region of Cuyuni river is fertile with alluvial gold and the river basin is rich in metallogenic products. Some of the tributaries of Cuyini river bear diamonds and most of the river's length is navigable. The Kamaria Hydroelectric Power project is constructed on the Cuyuni and produces considerable amount of electricity. Course of Cuyuni River The source of Cuyuni river is in the Guiana Highlands of Venezuela and it moves through a region of undulating topography before meeting the Mazaruni River. Though it rises in Venezuela, the main course of the river is covered in Guyana. Thus much of the meandering course of Cuyuni river is noticed in the lush tropical rainforests of Guyana.

The Cuyuni river has many beneficial properties and is profitable to both the nations of Venezuela and Guyana in a number of ways.

CUYUNI-MAZARUNI

The Cuyuni-Mazaruni Region contains two of the four natural regions: forested highlands and a small portion of the hilly sand and clay region.

This Region brings to mind the majestic Pakaraima mountain range. Mount Roraima (2,810 metres high, standing at the point where Guyana, Brazil and Venezuela meet) and Mount Ayanganna are in this mountain range.

Most of the 15,342 people of this Region are involved in mining for gold and diamonds. Omai Gold Mines Ltd, which extracted 250,642 ounces of gold last year [1994], is the biggest gold producer in this Region, and in Guyana.

Under the Upper Mazaruni Hydroelectric Scheme, a hydroelectric plant was to provide electricity for the Region was planned, but it has not yet been built. It would be a great asset to the Region's development.

There are eight Amerindian settlements in the area of the Pakaraimas, where crops are grown. These crops supply the settlements and gold and diamond mines in the Region.

Guyana Gold and Diamond Property, Guyana, South America
The Guyanex Joint Venture, entered into with Guyanex Minerals Corp. of Toronto, Canada, holds three alluvial and hard rock concessions totaling 3,158 acres along the Cuyuni River near Georgetown, Guyana, South America. This region for many years is the predominant alluvial gold mining location in Guyana, with renewed activity based on the increased price of gold. Additionally, in more recent years several major bedrock gold mines have been developed. Also there are a number of properties under exploration that are being drilled and approaching the development stage within this region. It is the objective of the Joint Venture to proceed with mining of alluvial gold and diamonds, with initial work to consist of confirming the previous drill testing by a series of "banka" drill holes through the alluvial materials throughout the leases. The confirmation drilling will allow design of an efficient mining plan prior to locating the production plant facilities. An initial testing budget of $300,000 is proposed. Production is estimated to begin within 6 months with production costs of $5 million to be funded by a gold loan facility to be repaid in gold from production.

This fits the JV that we are in discussions with.

If I got it right; "That's my one for the year!" If this had been an actual trading emergency you would have been instructed "TO NOT LISTEN TO ME!" There is no substitute for your own DD!!!
