FINDING THE DRMS DATA

It seems a few have some questions on how to find the permit data for CGFI on the DRMS site. It only takes a few clicks and after practicing a few hundred times over the last couple years the regulars around here can do it without thinking. It's a great DD tool.

I'll mention this again later on, but the permit number is M-1984-049, which means this was the 49th permit of the year 1984. Easy, eh? As you've guessed there's some old info here from prior companies. As you sift through the thousands of pages, you'll find many battles won and lost. This is the power of maintaining the same permit number - why fight the battles twice? The permit is the permit, no matter who owns it. It's also very educational to see how the DRMS picks through the submitted letters and pencils in comments - reminds me of an old spinster English teacher that never gave an "A".

First:

Go to the DRMS site. http://mining.state.co.us/

Click on County/Operator Mining Data on the left.

Then on the right under Other Data click on Imaged Document Data.

You'll see the first link is Click here to use DRMS document Management System, click there.

This will bring you to the data base. Scroll down the left side until you see Field. In the Permit box type in M1984049 and then click Search.

This will bring everything up. At this point I usually navigate by clicking date twice and it'll bring the most current doc to the top. You can also play around with the search on the left, using the permit number and other search fields.

You can shortcut this page, but it gets easy to find after the first few times.

Have fun!
