My Burger by McDonald's with QR codes
We have reported on the use of QR codes in McDonalds Japan long time ago. Meantime is also McDonald's Germany on the square eye-catcher. While the Japanese already at that time very object oriented referred the individual Burger on the nutritional information and ingredients, the QR code used in Germany is rather detached from the rest of the campaign.
A QR code that links to the company's mobile Web site is located on the Tablet runs on the current campaign "My Burger". There is although after some navigating to the "My Burger"-Unterseite, but from then on the "normal" Web page referenced. The flash-heavy site is probably also to blame, that no direct link to the normal Web page is specified.
For me the integration of the mobile channel has failed here. The QR code is not teased on the tray and you can tap the user completely in the dark what might await him after scanning. Also the cross-media opportunities would use here significantly better. Direct vote on the taste are the Burger of the tablet or the packaging of burgers, even just an idea which has come to me directly to mind.
