like it or not, government, including the law, is the ultimate power governing this nation and its people and affairs -- that's how it is and has always been under our Constitution, and it's hardly an unusual arrangement for a nation

and like it or not, government is essential as the only available means to effectively address the downsides of big capital -- of course big capital always seeks to acquire/control government, and succeeds over time and from time to time to varying extents; that's what it does with anything by means of which it believes it can extract profit/avoid cost; that's also part of just the way things are
