I just got off the phone with John. Doug is in the air flying coach, Not business class, NOT first class back to SL as I write.
He will be in-country for 5 weeks. After his return production numbers will be released. (You'll recall the Jan. & July dates)
He will have two dredges operating in the Yele concession. "They will be dredging for gold, not stockpiling material because of the rains". This may mean increased daily production IMHO. I verified that the current daily production figure is one to two ounces AU a day. That's the grand total.
"The Chinese are now everywhere buying assets. the available farmland will be all gone in two years." I'm glad we expanded our agricultural operation when we did!
"We are still awaiting a lab assay report". "Much of the gold in the stockpiled concentrate is microscopic to flour size."
"Baja fuel filters will be on site"(to prevent the fuel contamination problems we've had)"During the fuel shortage we had to drive many miles to find diesel" "We discovered one vendor cheated us when we found ping pong balls in the fuel container".
"The potential of raising our own oil crop such as jatropha is being researched". This will ensure a reliable and high quality supply IMHO. "We would only make $4 a lb. on titanium" Forget REEs guys the economics are not in our favor. "With the price of gold forecast to rise that is what we're concentrating on". "Diamonds found are a mix of mostly small industrial grade. The nicer or colored gem quality ones get us $200 a carat" Question-What about spending $30K for an exporters license. Answer-"Not worth it." I hope this helps answer some questions. It did for me. John concluded the conversation that he is working the issues, & that he and Doug are doing their utmost to make a success all of the company operations. I sincerely believe, in time, they will. Long & Strong SGCP!
