Advanced Voice Recognition Systems, Inc. (“AVRS”) (OTCBB: AVOI) is a software development company headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., specializing in creating interface and application solutions for speech recognition technologies. Our speech recognition software and related firmware were first introduced in 1994 at an industry trade show.

Our primary assets are patents. The first U.S. Patent #5,960,447 is for a word tagging and editing system for speech recognition filed on November 13, 1995, and issued on September 28, 1999. The patent includes 42 claims covering an extremely broad base of features applicable to existing Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) products and markets.

U.S. Patent #7,558,730 was filed on November 27, 2001, and issued on July 7, 2009. The invention discloses a system for facilitating speech recognition and transcription among users employing incompatible protocols for generating, transcribing and exchanging speech. This patent is expected to strengthen our position in voice recognition.

On March 9, 2010, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) declared an interference between the AVRS as Senior Party and Allvoice Developments, US LLC as Junior Party. An interference is a proceeding conducted by the USPTO in instances where two or more parties claim patent rights to the same technology. In an interference the primary purpose of the USPTO is to determine which party invented the technology first, and to award the patent to that party. The AVRS patent was filed approximately 10 months before the Allvoice Patent. On January 13, 2011, Oblon Spivak of Alexandria, Va., representing AVRS in the Interference proceedings, delivered oral arguments before a three judge panel of the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences (BPAI). Oral arguments were the culmination of thousands of hours of team effort. The Company hopes to receive a timely decision.

Also on January 13, 2011, the Company received a notice of allowance for a third patent which is a continuation of U.S. Patent #7,558,730. We believe the third patent will improve the efforts of AVRS to monetize its assets in the rapidly growing voice recognition and transcription marketplace.

Additionally, the Allvoice Patent is the subject of a lawsuit that Allvoice filed against Microsoft in August 2009 in which Allvoice alleged infringement of Allvoices’ patent. Microsoft in turn filed invalidity contentions based in part on Advanced Voice Recognition Systems’ patent and its previously marketed product Digital Dictate. To date the Western District of Washington has not ruled on the invalidity contentions asserted by Microsoft.

ABOUT AVOI

AVRS’s ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
AVRS’s Enterprise Technology has the ability to seamlessly interface with virtually any hardware, any application software, any workflow environment, any speech input device and any processing method or device. The transparency of AVRS’s Enterprise Technology makes it effortless for a customer to integrate because it eliminates the need for a user to make changes that disturb its systems, internal technology and employees, which can cause a loss of productivity and revenue. Implementing new technology generally creates a hurdle for organizations because changes in workflow patterns, system revisions and retraining are generally required for such change. The transparent nature of AVRS’s technology enables smooth implementation.

AVRS Enterprise Technology has functionality broken up into three components:

(1) Transaction Manager
(2) Transcription Server
(3) Dictation/Correction Assistant Clients

Transaction Manager (TM), manages job processing from the dictation & correction clients and Transcription Servers (TS). The Transaction Manager system houses all the data necessary for the processing of each task, as well as all user and system settings and security information. The TM controls all Transcription Servers that are enabled on a network as well as all clients that are active. When a job is submitted from a client computer, TM sends it to the first available TS. If no compatible Transcription Server is available at that time, the job will be queued for later processing.

Transcription Server(s) (TS)-process the dictation and converts it into text. This is the system that will have a dictation recognition engine residing on it. In the event of a TS hardware failure the job is re-queued to a different TS.

The Dictation and Correction Assistant Clients (DC & CA) is the user interface level of AVRS Enterprise. This is where the end user interacts with the system. From the Client, a user can dictate, correct, proofread and modify personal user settings. Once connected to the TM, a user can choose any stored profiles that can be used to process their dictation, and can also make changes to their correction assistant(s), notification(s), or any other user settings. The Correction Assistant Client is used to retrieve jobs, select users, and correct proofread dictation jobs.

AVRS’s Enterprise technology (Workstation, WAN, Internet or Intranet ) is designed for maximum efficiency of workflow in any office. This technology can be customized to satisfy the needs of a large corporation, hospital, law firm, and virtually any large organization. If you have a need for efficient creation, correction and proofreading of reports, letters, e-mail, etc. by a large number of people, AVRS’s Enterprise Technology can provide you with the most efficient solution.
