VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - 12/02/10) - Environmental Control Corporation ("EVCC") (OTC.BB:EVCC - News) is pleased to announce the commencement of Phase Two of its Snowmobile Project with Vconverter Corporation and Michigan Tech University.
During Phase One of the project, EVCC and Vconverter engineered an exhaust system based on EVCC's patented Reverse Flow Catalytic Muffler technology. The catalytic muffler was manufactured by Vconverter and shipped to Michigan Tech University for initial testing. Initial results not only showed favorable emission reductions over the Original Engine Manufactured (OEM), but it also achieved superior Hydrocarbon (HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) emission reductions in comparison with competing catalytic systems. For Phase Two, EVCC and Vconverter will be experimenting with different shell compositions and catalytic structures in an effort to further optimize the unit.
Albert Hickman, President and CEO of EVCC, comments: "Starting in 2012, snowmobile manufacturers will be faced with more stringent emission regulations for both Hydrocarbon and Carbon Monoxide. In turn, this will force several manufacturers to implement new cleantech solutions in order to keep certain model engines in their product line. EVCC has shown very strong emission reductions on snowmobile engines in the past, and we are pleased to offer a solution in these new market conditions. The snowmobile and ATV industry is an attractive market segment for the company, and we are pleased with the outcome of this project to date."
EVCC was recently featured in two leading snowmobile magazines. The company was first featured in the September issue of Scooternorge -- a Norwegian ATV and Snowmobile magazine (www.scooternorge.no). Later that month, EVCC was featured in SnowTech Magazine -- voted the best US magazine in snowmobiling (www.snowtechmagazine.com).
