KNDI - I believe that KNDI is on a slow climb to success in the electrified vehicle market in China. With 4% debt, a paid for factory with a 100,000 car capacity, favored treatment by the government, and current margins of 24%, it is about to sell cars in China. Previously KNDI revenue has been electric ATVs sold in the US. Most of the recent rise in the stock price has been due to Seeking Alpha articles by corstrat (post on KNDI/Yahoo), a retired stock analyst who is heavily invested, with an investor group, in KNDI. He has just returned from a China trip and visit to KNDI. Likely next week he will issue another KNDI article. Here are some basics followed by some sites for further DD if you like:

1. KNDI makes a two seat auto which sells for ~ $6,000 (without battery) which is 50% subsidized by the government. While the maximum subsidy is $8,800 it varies based on battery capacity.
2. It comes in two versions, on with a battery and charging capability, and a second without a battery which is leased.
3. The version using the leased lead acid battery is the preferred model. While lead acid batteries provide half the charge per weight, they are one fourth the price of LiFePo4 batteries. KNDI is in a partnership with State Grid Power Corporation to use the battery replacement concept. If you are at your battery limit, you visit a battery replacement station where in a few minutes they replace your leased battery which they slow charge for longer battery life.
4. The State Grid Power Corporation has plans to provide charging post and replacement stations.
