It would appear, based on the information at the top of the page, that MediaG3 is bring A4 Wireless back into the picture! http://www.a4wireless.com

Not only that, but MediaG3 and MeshGlobal have partnered with Discovery Maps!

Actual Statement On Link: A4Wireless US Discovery Maps - Wireless Broadband Internet Access / with Partners Discovery Maps, MeshGlobal & MediaG3

This is a whole new can of worms as this could mean so many things!

Will Discover Maps be an application for MDGC phones?
Will they be a service used to map coverage?

My mind is racing trying to connect the dots on this one. Here is some information on what appears to be MDGC's newest partner.

The Industry:
Map publishing currently is a multi-billion dollar industry. Destination maps are not a product looking for a market—the traveling market is looking for fun and informative maps. United States residents alone spend in excess of $570 billion on travel, spending $170 billion shopping at domestic destinations, according to the latest Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) figures. Discovery Map is the nation's leading illustrated map and guide publishing franchise. As a tourism map publisher, you will be part of a niche market. Travelers need and seek Discovery Maps, and businesses want to capture more traveler spending.

Travel and tourism comprises one of the world's largest and fastest-growing industries—the third-largest retail sector in the U.S., behind only automotive and food stores. Wherever they go, whatever their interests, business and leisure travelers need to know—Where do we eat? Where do we stay? Where can we shop? How can we have fun? What's the easiest way to get there? Our slogan at Discovery Map is, "We Show the Way!"

According to the TIA's report, The Shopping Traveler, shopping is the most popular activity Americans do while on trips away from home. And when asked what factor most impacted a positive shopping experience, 70% of the respondents cited, "shopping area is easy to get to or convenient". When asked about sources used to find information on shopping, in-room maps and guides were a top choice—second only to referrals by friends or families.

Travelers ask for and depend on Discovery Maps and Guides.

The Discovery Map Difference:
Where shall we start? We simply blow away the competition. Our maps are hand-illustrated. They're vivid, beautiful, fun, and functional. Travelers are attracted to them and businesses want to be associated with them. Where tourism is a strong economic sector our franchisees are poised to profit from the need of businesses to attract visitor dollars.

About Starr Map Company:
LA CONNER, WA— Meeting the needs of both visitors and local businesses, Discovery Map International has transformed the traditional grid-like map into a fun and functional, illustrated interpretive map that captures the essence of travel locations all across the United States.

"We show the way around community and vacation destinations, leading travelers to each area's premium accommodations, restaurants, shops, attractions, and services," said Vicki Starr, founder and president of Discovery Map International. "Our souvenir-quality maps illustrate popular travel spots with colorful, fun artwork. Visitors seek out Discovery Maps to use and have as a keepsake."

As a sales and marketing representative for a Sun Valley, Idaho newspaper, and later a radio station, Starr started her career selling advertisement space to local businesses.

Starr recognized that, while businesses had plenty of advertising avenues to reach local people, businesses needed a new tool to reach travelers who were only in town for a few days. To solve this issue, Starr looked to combine a creative advertisement medium for local businesses with a useful, fun product for the visitors.

"Visitors need maps," said Starr. "It's the number-one most-requested piece of information. We decided we could not only meet that need, but offer much more."

Discovery Map fills the need of local businesses by capturing the attention of visitors who may be in town for only a few days, with little or no knowledge of their vacation surroundings. In return, Discovery Map provides visitors with a hand-illustrated diagram of the entire area, depicting local restaurants, shops, hotels, and other hot spots. In essence, Discovery Map serves as a tourism catalyst, supplying visitors with a necessary navigational tool, and offering businesses the chance to reach those visitors. Discovery Map International transforms every community into Disneyland, added Starr.

Now, Starr's maps can be found in visitor's information centers, hotels, restaurants, and other locations in popular destinations across America. These maps not only provide fun facts and easy-to-read directions to local attractions, they also serve as a keepsake for a family scrapbook, Starr added.

After 12 years of steady growth, Starr began franchising as a means of expanding, yet keeping the "local touch" only a franchisee can provide. In 1999, Discovery Map International was formed to franchise the Starr Map concept. Today, you can find Discovery Maps in over 40 markets, and we publish over six million maps each year.

Ms. Starr serves as our President, Secretary, and CEO. She is the founder of Starr Map Company and the developer of the Discovery Map concept. A street-wise entrepreneur, Ms. Starr's leadership, hands-on responsibility, and participation in all facets of the company have taken us from one market in Idaho in 1987 to where we are today. Prior to 1987, she was an account executive in radio and newspaper businesses. She has accumulated over 25 years experience in advertising—20 as a business owner, focusing on providing effective marketing vehicles for businesses in communities with visitor-dependent economies.

I am very interested to see what information MediaG3 MDGC provides us regarding their partnership with Discovery Maps! I very curious about how MeshGlobal is involved in this as well. I obviously understand having MediaG3(main company) and A4 Wireless(reseller/service) in the header, but I am wondering if this has anything to do with the pilot projects? Only time will tell.
