DesertDrifter -- within about say 15 years or so, a basic desktop will have more processing power than a human brain (and through the intertubes' progeny, will know more than any human ever could even with the same access) -- and within another say 15 years after that, a basic desktop will have more processing power than the brains of every human who ever lived combined -- and that's without even getting into the potential of quantum computing, which is already in its early stages -- if we're lucky, they may keep a few of us around as pets (a thought I've expressed here before, but no time to go find right now as I need a nap, have been up and busy since yesterday)
