Thomas Gaffney Selects Gordon Getz for CEO of IMAI

Gordon Getz has been in the Healthcare industry for the past 39 years. With a B. S. degree in Biology and Chemistry, Gordon’s career began as a research biologist for the pharmaceutical division of Sterling-Winthrop Research Institute in Rensselaer, NY in 1971. He realized quickly that the repetitive and cloistered nature of a researcher was not fulfilling and that his communicative and social skills would be better suited in a position involving personal contact and interaction. In 1972, Gordon secured a sales position with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals which became his launching pad into a very successful and rewarding career in sales and marketing that also included, Bristol Laboratories and Baxter Travenol and he was a yearly recipient of top sales awards with all three firms. In 1981, Gordon moved from pharmaceuticals into the emerging dialysis industry with Gambro AB where he earned the Salesman of the year in his first year of employment. Years of consistent success attracted the attention of a prominent nephrologist in Jackson, MS who recruited Gordon to help launch the first regional distributor for dialysis centers called Healthcare Suppliers which grew into the largest dialysis supply company in the south and was bought by a major dialysis corporation after 10 years of operation.

For the past 15 years Gordon has been sought after as an independent contractor hired to increase market share for numerous established and startup firms in the specialty medical device industry including Boston Scientific, Galt Medical, Artegraft, Arrow International and dozens more. His ability to gain market share has enabled many of his clients to sell their technology to the highest bidder. Gordon developed many close relationships with physicians of all specialties, dialysis providers, hospital administration and clinical personel. As a result of these interactions, Gordon has gained first hand knowledge of the flaws inherent in our healthcare system and is well prepared to introduce the Data Health Systems solutions that will revolutionize the entire Healthcare industry.
