since the holidays are fast approaching, it's about time to prepare cherries for specific treats. Very simple to do

Several jars of Gourmet Maraschino Cherries, or your favorite brand.
drain half (or more) of the syrup from the jar.
fill with your preference of liquids.

bacardi 151 is great
various liqueurs by flavor that will compliment the cherries
various brandies will work
replace lid and try like hell not to open early

makes for great eating right outta the jar, or if you must...makes for a great pie.

don't toss the seasoned syrup...a good mixer for various things.
