Okay... A couple more things...

You're welcome. Everybody's welcome.

I have followed the .gov/.mil trail... for a long, long time. And that led me to Orlando.

Orlando is not El Dorado. Nor is it a suburb of El Dorado... you know... the city supposedly with streets paved in gold? What was spoken of (and demonstrated and advocated for) in Orlando doesn't mean Wave will become an overnight success.

But... again... **purely from a technology validation standpoint**... I could not have asked for more from this conference. When you have NSA speaker after NSA speaker stepping up and saying, "These are the technologies and protocols for which we are advocating..." well, if you're somebody who like me who's done a lot of reading in this space... it's a powerful experience.

At various points during the week, I just wished EVERYONE were there... including Red Beard... YaYa... Scorpio... everyone.

I asked the PwC speaker (later when he was hanging out at Wave's booth) how he'd found Wave. He'd found Wave because he once wrote a Master's Thesis (in Dutch) about trusted computing technologies... thus Wave's name was one he was familiar with. This guy is smart. He had three vendors come in with presentations. And Wave won the business. And now... one could hardly ask for a better "champion." He's saving money. And protecting his network with the "gold standard."

There were 485 attendees... most of whom were from private industry. There was even someone who traveled from U.K (a U.K. government guy) to be there. At various points (not uniformly... but sporadically)... both the TCG and Wave booths were crawling with visitors.

I made some new friends. And I learned that the worst Burger King in America is in Orlando. :)

Oh... and one other thing: By the last presentation on the last day, the NSA "boss" was referring to the conference as the "inaugural" NSA Trusted Computing Conference & Exposition. And one of his colleagues made it plain that because this one had been so wildly successful that they were committing to having another next year.

Best Regards,

c m
