Angle: Dems Are Idolators, In "Violation Of The First Commandment"

Sharron Angle is getting the wrong kind of attention again. Today's news is that the GOP's Great Nevada Hope believes that government is a false god, and that anyone who believes the government should, say, help the jobless buy food for their families is supporting idolatry.

In a just-uncovered April radio appearance, Angle told a Christian radio host that anyone who benefits from government programs is in "violation of the First Commandment."

And these programs that you mentioned -- that Obama has going with Reid and Pelosi pushing them forward -- are all entitlement programs built to make government our God. And that's really what's happening in this country is a violation of the First Commandment. We have become a country entrenched in idolatry, and that idolatry is the dependency upon our government. We're supposed to depend upon God for our protection and our provision and for our daily bread, not for our government.

Angle went on to suggest that her campaign against Harry Reid is a sort of crusade, "a war of ideology, a war of thoughts and faith. And we need people to really stand for faith and trust, not hope and change."

In other words, Angle expects Nevadans to put their "faith and trust" in God's plan, and elect a woman who thinks it's not her job to stimulate job growth in her home state — who seems to think her job is to paralyze and destroy the very government she seeks to join.

No wonder she thinks voters may soon be resorting to "Second Amendment remedies." Big Government has put our national soul at risk.
