NR 90 - Liberty Star Identifies 12 Potential Porphyry Targets for Further Exploration at the Big Chunk Super Project for Gold-Copper-Moly
Press Release Source: Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. On Monday April 5, 2010, 8:05 am EDT
TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (the “Company,”) (OTCBB:LBSR - News) is pleased to announce that CEO James A. Briscoe (P. Geo) has identified 12 targets for further exploration at the Company’s Big Chunk Super Project (BCSP) in southwestern Alaska. Mr. Briscoe’s identification of the 12 targets was made possible by his extensive work in the porphyry copper-gold–silver-moly bearing caldera at Silver Bell, Arizona, and Mr. Briscoe’s recent reinterpretation of data over the BCSP lands collected in 2004-2005.
The Company’s BCSP comprises 707 State of Alaska mining claims covering about 177 square miles in the Lake Iliamna region of southwestern Alaska. The claims were initially staked in 2003, after Mr. Briscoe determined that the caldera containing Northern Dynasty Minerals’ Pebble discovery was strikingly similar to the caldera hosting the Silver Bell mining district in Arizona, where he had worked as a geologist in the 1960s and again in the 1990s.
In 2004 and 2005, the Company undertook exploration programs at the BCSP, including, among others, biogeochemical studies previously proven to be useful at Silver Bell, Ariz., in the mid-1990s. The results of the 2004-2005 exploration work, combined with his understanding of porphyry-bearing calderas and their related geochemical patterns, bolstered Briscoe’s belief that there may be more porphyry centers and associated Carlin Style and Round Mountain Style stand-alone gold deposits to be discovered within the Big Chunk caldera.
In June 2009 the Company contracted GeoTech Ltd. (Aurora, Ontario, Canada) to conduct helicopter-borne ZTEM surveys over the South Block of the BCSP claims area. The Company has received initial word from GeoTech that the ZTEM confirms Briscoe’s projections and they believe that at least four anomalies of porphyry copper type appear to be present. GeoTech is currently conducting computer processing to provide a 2D inversion which will allow for a three-dimensional approximation of the porphyry systems present. Briscoe comments, “While the final processing of the ZTEM information is ongoing, it appears that no fewer than 12 targets, based on geochemical patterns at Big Chunk, should undergo further exploration, including core-sample drilling as early as summer, 2010.”

NR 91 - LIBERTY STAR RECEIVES FIRST PHASE ZTEM DATA FROM GEOTECH LTD. ON BIG CHUNK SUPER PROJECT AK, S BLOCK
Tucson, Arizona - April 13, 2010 - Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (the “Company,” LBSR: OTCBB) is pleased to announce that it has received the full database for the 1D ZTEM geophysical data for all 1,256 line kilometers (780.4 miles) in north-south lines spaced 250 meters apart. The survey, undertaken over the Company’s Big Chunk Super Project S Block in southwestern Alaska, covered 315.2 sq kilometers (121.7 sq miles). To date, only one line has had 2D inversion performed on it. That line crosses a circular EM feature consistent with a typical porphyry copper system defined in original testing of the ZTEM system in SE Arizona. This 2D model shows a typical low responsive area, which could correspond to an ore mineral core zone with a surrounding responsive cylinder representing a pyrite halo typical of porphyry systems.
The remainders of the lines are being processed to yield 2D models. In addition to the ZTEMdata, the Company’s CEO and Chief Geologist, Jim Briscoe, along with other geocontractors, willbe analyzing all existing geologic, geochemical and geophysical data sets. The Company’sgeological team will also continue working with the geophysicists at Geotech Ltd. to identify other circular features that might represent porphyry copper alteration and metallization zoneswithin the Big Chunk Super Project. More than four of these circular responsive zones have already been identified and appear to be generally associated with geochemical targets reported in NR 90.
Mr. Briscoe comments,” The potential for large discoveries in southwestern Alaska is well known. Liberty Star is aggressively seeking capable joint venture partners to perform the extensive drilling program this substantial set of targets requires.”

NR 92 - LIBERTY STAR RECEIVES 2D INVERSION ZTEM DATA ON BIG CHUNK SUPER PROJECT AK, S BLOCK
Tucson, Arizona – May 6, 2010 - Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (the “Company,” LBSR: OTCBB) is pleased to announce that it has received the completed 2D inversion for every other line for the 1256 line kilometers of the ZTEM survey database. The 2D inversion data is modeled in 3D and will provide the Company’s geological and geophysical team with data to precisely define promising anomalies. In these areas all lines will be processed for 2D inversions and 3D models will be prepared. Final interpretation will be performed to pick the best targets for subsequent drill testing at the South Block on the Company’s Big Chunk Super Project (BCSP) in southwestern Alaska.
In June 2009 the Company contracted Geotech Ltd. (Aurora, Ontario, Canada) to conduct helicopter-borne ZTEM surveys over the South Block of the BCSP claims area. This electromagnetic (EM) method can gather data as much as 2 kilometers (about 6 thousand feet) below the Earth’s surface to identify geophysical features associated with mineral systems. By April 2010 Geotech had delivered a database for the 1D ZTEM geophysical data for all 1256 line kilometers (780.4 miles) in north-south lines spaced 250 meters apart, covering 315.2 sq kilometers (121.7 sq miles). At that time, the one line that had a 2D inversion performed on it showed that it crosses a circular EM feature consistent with a typical porphyry copper system defined in original testing of the ZTEM system in southeastern Arizona. That 2D model shows a typical low responsive area, which could correspond to an ore mineral core zone with a surrounding responsive cylinder representing a pyrite halo typical of porphyry systems as defined in the Lowell - Guilbert porphyry copper model.
Comments James A. Briscoe (P. Geo), the Company’s CEO, “Over the last six years we have carefully gathered across the entire Big Chunk caldera some 11 thousand geochem samples and assayed them for 64 elements each, completed low level high resolution aeromagnetics and compiled base geology. Additionally, we have completed over 100 miles of ground based IP geophysics. All of this data is in digital format and can be compared and interpreted together at the same scale. The new ZTEM data for the BCSP-South Block will be another step in our meticulous exploration process. Along with all the preceding studies, it will be used to refine and pinpoint what these mutually reinforcing data appear to show – anomalies that are characteristic of large porphyry copper mineral bodies, which may contain significant mineralization. Accurately placed drill holes to test these mutually reinforcing data will be the final step in testing for the presence of significant mineralization.”

NR 93 - LIBERTY STAR RECEIVES ZTEM REPORT – SHOWS “AT LEAST 6 TO 7 PORPHYRY COPPER SIGNATURES” IN BIG CHUNK SOUTH BLOCK, AK
Tucson, Arizona – May 18, 2010 - Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (The “Company,” LBSR: OTCBB) is pleased to announce that it has received the completed 2D ZTEM Report for the Big Chunk South Block from our geophysical contractor Geotech Ltd. This professional report states that their interpretation “shows at least 6 to 7…..signatures..…that are consistent with porphyry copper responses….Comparison against ZTEM 2D resistivity inversion results have defined resistivity features that resemble typical potassic-altered core and pyritic-propylitic halos over known porphyry systems, extending to great depth (>1 km or 3,000 feet).”
These anomalies are in the size range of the footprint of the nearby Pebble deposit(s), also within the Big Chunk caldera, and go to significant depth. Stated in the report “Porphyry coppers… tend to be associated with pronounced resistivity highs associated with a potassium rich altered core, surrounded by resistivity lows associated with pyrite propylitic alteration halos (i.e. Mt Milligan, San Juan-Lone Star, Morrison etc.).” This is the Porphyry Copper Model, which Company Director Dr. John Guilbert co-developed and is described and illustrated in his book, Geology of Ore Deposits.
Comments James A. Briscoe (P. Geo), the Company’s CEO, “This is the culmination of our seven year long painstaking exploration process starting in 2003 with recognition of potential for numbers of porphyry copper occurrences along the moat zone of the Big Chunk caldera, hidden under post mineral material including cover left by glacial action. All of our collected millions of pieces of exploration data fit together like a complicated but now essentially completed puzzle. Our geochemistry tells us we are in the proper metal zone(s) and the ZTEM tells us porphyry systems are present and gives us specific targets to drill.”
The Company continues aggressively to seek joint venture partner(s) to drill these geophysically defined porphyry anomalies. Geosciences/Mining professionals may contact Mr. Briscoe directly: 520-721-1375 or jbriscoe@libertystaruranium.com.
