Executive Chairman Mike Kendrick

Mike Kendrick founded The Mineseeker Foundation and Mineseeker Operations and personally recruited eminent patrons including Nelson Mandela, Queen Noor, Sir Richard Branson, and Lord Attenborough.

Mike held a number of executive positions in marketing and PR including, Managing Director and shareholder of Good Relations part of the largest PR Consultancy in the UK, which became the first company of its type to secure a public listing in 1972.

He formed a company called Lighter Than Air Ltd, essentially to commercialise the potential of hot air balloons and airships, and became well known in the UK for producing TV programmes on a local, national and international level.

In 1988 he formed the Virgin Airship and Balloon Company (VABC) which became the world’s largest aerial advertising agency, operating over seventy aircraft in more than twenty countries, for blue chip clients including Goodyear, Budweiser, Met Life, Sanyo, Blockbuster, Mazda and Orange.

The company employed in excess of 400 staff, including a team of aviation specialists. VABC was a highly technical and regulated business with the operating criteria of a commercial airline company.

He was also Project Director of all of Sir Richard Branson’s high profile world record attempts, responsible for all aspects of the projects including budgets, safety, technical assessment and media exposure.

Mike Kendrick was also a director and founder shareholder of several other Virgin companies including Virgin Projects, Vintage Airlines, and Virgin Blockbuster. He sold this interest in 2002.

He has held a commercial pilot’s license and has held several aviation world records.

Aerospace boss pledges $1.4M to help landmine victims

The CEO of US-based Quasar Aerospace Industries Inc, Dean Bradley, has pledged a $1.4m financial package to the UK-based Mineseeker Foundation in a bid to provide ongoing practical support to the victims of landmine blasts worldwide – and will be the foundation’s first corporate patron.

The Mineseeker Foundation was founded by Mike Kendrick in 2001, when the former CEO of Virgin Airship and Balloon Company devised a means of detecting landmines using sophisticated radar detection carried by airships.

Nine years on, the foundation continues to seek ways of aiding landmine victims whilst working simultaneously on landmine detection and eradication thanks to its sister company Mineseeker Operations UK Ltd. It plans to use a unique ground penetrating radar system that can detect landmines from an aerial platform – now a small plane or helicopter, rather than an airship – and accurately map minefields, detailing affected areas.

A Message From Mike Kendrick Founder of Mineseeker

LANDMINES kill, maim, terrify and starve the population. There are over 100 million landmines buried beneath the surface of this planet. Every twenty minutes a land mine kills or maims someone… usually women and children. They render over 800 thousand square kilometers of land useless and terrify millions of people who live in constant fear. The cost to human life is horrific and the economic effect is devastating. This is not an act of God, or a natural disaster - It is a man made disaster that is bigger, in terms of lives lost, than civil disruption and economic deprivation, including the Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina or the Pakistan earthquake.

Using current technology and strategies, it has been estimated that it could take up to 600 years to rid the planet of these devices. It takes a mine clearance operative one day to clear 40 sq meters. However, the Patrons of Mineseeker discovered a new technology that was available that could condense the removal of landmines to the next fifty years. This ground-penetrating radar, when carried on a stable aerial platform, can scan the ground at 100 meters per second. This technology, developed by the British MOD, has been licensed to Mineseeker for humanitarian de-mining. We deployed the system in ravaged Kosovo and tested it in live conditions. The results were spectacular. This system can fix the problem within our life time. While Mineseeker will liberate the designated landmine areas, it will not stop there. We have introduced the 'Sole of Africa' campaign to make sure that the land is used to grow crops, feed the local population and, most importantly, to empower the people. We intend to take the land and form a cooperative, dividing the land into small farm units.

This cooperative will teach the local population to, sow, grow, harvest and sell the produce. We have formed an association with leading not-for-profit organizations including 'Feed the Children' and The International Youth Foundation to provide a 'Foster Management' to create a workforce and training to farm the land and sustain the development of the land.

We have identified Mozambique and Angola as two areas of outstanding need and will concentrate on those areas until the project is completed. The 'Sole of Africa' logo is a poignant reminder of the job at hand, as it shows just one foot print: Most mine victims that survive only have one foot, so this shows a footprint in the earth… the earth we intend to release back to the people.

Best Wishes

Diana Landmine Conspiracies Return

(Excerpt)

By coincidence, I read of Mansfield’s Hay smearing of Diana’s legacy after returning from Croatia where I am filming a potentially innovative new method of detecting buried landmines—from a Mineseeker helicopter which is due to be named “The Spirit of Diana.” (Founder & CEO of Mineseeker Mike Kendrick is seeking permission from Princes William and Harry to name the first helicopter after their late mother.)

Mineseeker will be using its new, ground-penetrating radar (GPR) system next month in minefields outside Sibenik. Mounted for the first time in a helicopter, Mineseeker expects the radar, which will be supplied under license from the U.S. military, to be able to “see” buried landmines. If successful, Mineseeker will be a genuinely radical, 21st century development in the anti-landmine campaign that Diana championed with such passion.

Mineseeker hopes that with additional, innovative software it might eventually be able to identify mines from outer space via the helicopter’s GPR—think of your Sat Nav and imagine buried landmines rather than street maps on your screen. In April, Mineseeker presented its proposal to the most informed and critical audience on earth at the annual humanitarian de-mining conference organized by the Croatian Mine Action Center in Sibenik. While some in the international de-mining establishment remained skeptical and lacked immediate enthusiasm, Mineseeker promised to report to next year’s conference the results of trials to be held in Croatia, Cyprus, and Mozambique. Mineseeker’s founder & CEO, Mike Kendrick, stressed the importance of establishing the GPR’s efficacy in rocky and wooded terrain, deserts and jungles, as mines are laid indiscriminately around the world.

UK Schoolgirls hep Mineseeker and the Sole of Africa

Two Shropshire schoolgirls have become youth ambassadors for a charity which supports victims of landmines.

Charlie Kendrick, 13, and Sophie Dober, 12, became involved in the Mineseeker Foundation during an English project at Bridgnorth Endowed School.

Mineseeker helps to detect and remove landmines in Africa and its patrons include Nelson Mandela and Brad Pitt.

The girls will now tour other schools in the county to raise awareness for the Bridgnorth-based charity.

Lives destroyed

Mike Kendrick, who founded Mineseeker, said the girls were "incredibly enthusiastic" about the charity.

He said: "(The girls) care enormously about the people whose lives have literally been blown apart by landmines.

"It's tremendous that youngsters want to get actively involved in helping people less fortunate than themselves."

Charlie, who is Mr Kendrick's granddaughter, added: "The foundation aims to use aircraft equipped with new technology to help locate and destroy landmines, but it also wants to raise money to help landmine victims rebuild their lives.

"We designed a poster to raise awareness for the foundation and we have also drafted a letter to celebrities so that we can bring Mineseeker to their attention and hopefully get their support."

Now “Heartwoman” picks up the baton to help landmine victims…

(Excerpt)

Mineseeker Foundation CEO and founder Mike Kendrick is thrilled that, after Geoff “Heartman” Brink’s incredible one-wheel ride brought the scourge of landmines to the forefront of many people’s minds, the baton has now been passed on to another courageous person prepared to put her mind, body and soul to such an extreme test to benefit the foundation’s work.

“We’re delighted that Jane will be raising much-needed funds for our mobile clinics,” said Mike.

“Thanks to a recent substantial donation from the CEO of US-based Quasar Aerospace, Dean Bradley, we are in the process of setting up a number of new mobile prosthetics clinics that will travel around war-torn areas providing new limbs for landmine victims.”

Mineseeker to Supply New Cost Effective AIDS Tests to Africa

(Excerpt)

Mike Kendrick, Founder of Mineseeker, said today, "While the primary objective of Mineseeker is the eradication of land mines, we are also committed to the regeneration of the local communities. Without that the clearance of mines is only part of the answer. Land will be returned to the people to grow food and a foster management programme installed to help re-establish themselves. This will mean growing good quality crops that will lift the natural immunity system - particularly helping AIDS sufferers. The introduction of the Aware product will help re-build the confidence of these communities."

Dean Bradley, the CEO of Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc., having just returned from Mineseeker headquarters in England, announces on behalf of Mineseeker Overseas Operations, LTD, that a short term delay in deploying to Croatia for the radar demonstration has occurred. This is due, primarily to logistical issues beyond the control of the company. Chairman, Michael Kendrick, has stressed that this is only a short term postponement. Interested parties should refer to www.mineseeker.com, where regular updates will be posted from next week (19th July) onward. Mr. Kendrick added that Wayne Rudd, who was the Chief Executive of one of our key technology suppliers, died suddenly and tragically last week which has also led to an inevitable delay. Dean Bradley, the CEO of Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc., announces the following on behalf of Mineseeker Operations UK Ltd.:

Mineseeker Operations UK Ltd report on Croatia Landmine Symposium.

The Mineseeker Operations team has returned from the International Symposium Humanitarian Demining, Sibenek Republic of Croatia, after receiving a very positive response from the humanitarian demining industry.

The Mineseeker team presented its technology to the symposium delegates as a pre-curser to an industry demonstration in June, at two locations near Sibenek, on the Dalmatian coast.

Mike Kendrick, Chairman of Mineseeker operations UK Ltd, who attended the symposium has reported, "A great deal of interest in the technology." He added, "It seems to confirm what we already knew, -- that the industry is eagerly awaiting this development in technology." "We have now been asked to consider a specific demonstration for the United Nations and have been invited to enter discussions with a foreign Government and are currently making arrangements to visit their country."

An announcement regarding the progress on acquisition negotiations for Quasar Aerospace International to take a controlling interest will be made within two weeks.

Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc. CEO Clarifies Mineseeker Deal

Dean Bradley, the CEO of Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc. is pleased to share the latest developments for Mineseeker Overseas Operations, Ltd. The following is a joint statement by Dean Bradley and Michael Kendrick, the founder and chairman of Mineseeker.

Mineseeker and Quasar Complete Negotiations

An agreement for Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc. to take a controlling share in Mineseeker Operations has been reached. The negotiations have suffered delay, due in some part, to the closing of much of Europe's airspace, which meant that the parties were unable to meet to discuss final terms. However, this has now been completed remotely and the contractual documents will be signed within a few days.

The deal involves Quasar securing a controlling share in the for-profit company, Mineseeker Operations (www.mineseeker.com).

The not-for-profit Mineseeker Foundation (www.mineseeker.org) will continue with its awareness and victim support programs. As part of the deal, The Mineseeker Foundation will be licensing Mineseeker brands to Mineseeker Operations which will enable it to exploit the intellectual property built up by the Foundation over the last decade.

Mineseeker Operations will be showcasing its products to the humanitarian de-mining community in Croatia on April 27th - 29th at a convention that will be attended by NGO's, funders, affected Governments and supply companies.

A formal press announcement will be made on completion.

A rumor has been spread by people who do not seem to bother with the truth or getting the facts straight that QASP is dealing with the Mineseeker Foundation which is totally incorrect. QASP is acquiring a 51% interest in Mineseeker Overseas Operation, Ltd., which is incorporated in BVI.

This for-profit corporation is currently negotiating hundreds of millions of dollars of contracts with companies in the Balkans and Africa. The particulars of these contracts will be shared at an appropriate time. QASP has invested $847,000 in Mineseeker Operations to date and will be advancing an additional $160,000 this week which will take our investment to just over $1,000,000.

Last week the representatives of the Irish corporation, their attorney, Quasar's management team and their two attorneys met in Freeport, Grand Bahama to iron out last minute details of our long term funding. We anticipate closing this financing and our first five acquisitions in a matter of days now.

Quasar Aerospace Industries Takes Option in High Tech Landmine Company

Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: QASP) has purchased an option to take a controlling share in BVI company, Mineseekers Operations Overseas Ltd, and its subsidiary Mineseeker Operations UK Ltd.

The company has a unique ground penetrating radar system that can detect landmines from an aerial platform, combined with a GPS and video mosaic system that will accurately map minefields and produce detailed photographic images of affected areas.

With a global market estimated to be in excess of $50 billion, covering over 90 countries, the scale of the landmines problem is enormous. Landmines are a humanitarian disaster that kill and maim victims in post-conflict areas on a daily basis and blight thousands upon thousands of acres of land that could otherwise be used to grow food in some of the poorest areas of the world.

The United Nations estimates that it will take several hundred years at the current rate to rid the planet of the tens of millions of buried landmines and other munitions left behind in war zones since the First World War. The Mineseeker technology is designed to vastly reduce the cost involved and the time taken to identify both landmines and other ordinance, which at the present time are located by operatives who painstakingly probe the ground by hand.

Dean Bradley, CEO of Quasar Aerospace Industries, said, "I am delighted to have secured the Option on the Mineseeker business and am keen to finalise the agreement before the end of this month so that we can move forward together and deliver this much needed breakthrough to the market."

"There is a massive and urgent need to tackle this landmine problem and we have the team and the technology to do it," he added.

"Furthermore, once the acquisition is completed we will be looking to deploy the technology for use in other commercial applications which would benefit from the high tech surveys that we can offer. The synergy with Quasar with its assets and interest in aircraft and training is obvious and we feel that this acquisition will be an excellent fit."

Mike Kendrick, Chairman of Mineseekers Operations, commented, "We are delighted that Quasar Aerospace Industries will become our investor in this company. There is a massive humanitarian need to rid the planet of the scourge of landmines. Currently it can cost up to over $1 million dollars per square kilometre to clear to declare landmine free. We will be able to survey a square kilometre at a fraction of that price -- delivering a healthy profit for our investors while fulfilling a massive need. The landmine problem is a man made disaster. Now we have a man made solution."
