NEP (5.20) investor relations told me the halt was initiated by the NYSE/AMEX because the company passed the 10Q filing extension deadline without proper communication to the exchange as to the status. He believes the company will resolve the matter by later this week and put out a press release, however he's been "kept in the dark" to large extent and can't be sure of when the company will comply and the stock can resume trading.

These repeated communication deficiencies have really hurt shareholders and tarnished the company's reputation, to put it mildly !

While this has been marked as a "T1" trading halt for "news pending", in reality it's an "H9" halt for filing delinquencies.
