White Family Moves Into House Haunted by Black Ghosts. "Meet the Haunteds" Comic Coming to the Big Screen.

Press Release Source: Platinum Studios, Inc. On Tuesday May 4, 2010, 9:00 am EDT

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - 05/04/10) - Steve Carr and Rumpus Entertainment and Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTC.BB:PDOS - News), one of the largest comic books rights houses that controls an international library of more than 5,600 comic book characters, have partnered to bring Platinum Studios' graphic novel "Meet the Haunteds" to the big screen.

"Meet the Haunteds" tells the story of a white family that moves in to a house haunted by black ghosts that have been there since the 1970s. The "Meet the Haunteds" graphic novel is scheduled to be published in 2011.

Carr and his partner Jason Taragan will produce the film with Platinum Studios' Chairman and CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. Former Universal Pictures senior executive Randy Greenberg of The Greenberg Group, who negotiated the deal, would be an executive producer.

"'Meet the Haunteds' is a perfect set up for social commentary on everything from race issues to family problems," said Carr. "This is another wonderful property from Platinum Studios which is turning itself into the go-to independent comic book company."

Carr directed the box office hits "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," "Daddy Day Care," and "Next Friday."

"Meet the Haunteds" is just one original property that hails from Platinum Studios' large multi-universe library. While Marvel was recently acquired by Disney for $4 Billion, and DC Comics is owned by Warner Bros., Platinum Studios remains independent of major entertainment studio affiliation.

Platinum Studios' entertainment division is accelerating development of "Cowboys & Aliens" with producers Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer and DreamWorks, Universal Pictures, Imagine Entertainment and Kurtzman/Orci (the writing team behind the "Transformers" and "Star Trek" franchises) and in the final stages of post-production on the independently financed feature, "Dylan Dog: Dead Of Night." Platinum is developing "Unique" with "Harry Potter" producer David Heyman at Walt Disney Pictures, "The Witchblade" with "Wanted" executive producer Marc Silvestri and Top Cow Productions, Inc., "Atlantis Rising" with DreamWorks, "The Weapon" with Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" star David Henrie, "Mal Chance" with Tony Krantz ("24"), an untitled feature film project at Sony Pictures Animation, "Nightfall" with producer William Stuart, "Blood Nation" with producer Alexandra Milchan. Platinum Studios is also developing "Indestructible Man" and "Gunplay" for TV with FOX21. Platinum's Rosenberg would serve as a producer on all Platinum Studios film projects and an executive producer on all Platinum Studios TV projects.
