Pervasive shares jump 16% on higher guidance

Shares of Pervasive Software Inc. increased 19 percent on Friday after the company elevated its fiscal first quarter guidance.

The data management and data integration software firm said the results for its fiscal first quarter that ended Sept. 30 should be in the range of $11.9 million to $12.2 million, up from the $10.5 million to $11.5 million guidance the company was anticipating in July.

Pervasive Software's (Nasdaq: PVSW) shares rose to $5.69 on Friday, up from Thursday's closing price of $4.76.
