RE Stockbuilder / Bruce, charts in Ibox...

I think I see the problem with the charts in the IBox of this board. http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=6256

At first I couldn't figure out what you were talking about, until I looked a the source coding for the page. That green table is actually full of embedded charts (hot linked to Stockcharts), 115 of them.

So I would say that board has been blocked by Stockcharts for violation of their TOS. IE you are only allowed to post a max of 4 charts per message or in the IBOX. Here's a link to their policy on that issue.

If this is the problem then you will be seeing charts on other boards and messages, just not in this particular IBox. If you can't see charts anywhere then there's another problem.

By the way I can't see the charts in that IBox either.

A little background...

IHub / SI are the only sites where we can post live embedded charts in posts. These sites were legacy supporters of Stockcharts when they started back in 1999 and as such we have the privilege to hot link charts into our posts and IBoxes, but within limits. If those limits are abused then the board will be blocked by Stockcharts and I'm sure if it becomes more of a problem then we would all loose the privilege and none of us want that to happen. Remember its just a special privilege only for IHUB, its not a right.

In other areas it also causes problems with server loads when all these charts are requested at once and basically very few people actually look at them, but they still have to be generated and if any one has the IBOX turned on they are regenerated on every visit or page refresh on that board. It is also a problem as it violates the members TOS with respect to re-publishing of charts.

Anyway hope this info helps and gives you a little background into the whole story.

I don't work for Stockcharts, I'm just another user always trying to learn more and willing to share what I've already learned.
