I think they have a estimated TD of 17k ft since the OBO-1 was between 15-16k ft. What this was all about was the way it was written up.
Sinopec has announced it will spud the Bomu-1 well before the end of August. The water depth is approximately 5,400 feet. Sinopec will drill to a total depth of approximately 11,600 feet subsea.
To me, there are only two elevations, above sea level and below sea level. At least that's the way it is when I'm drilling or working on a well.
They say "sub sea", well pipe lines, sub sea stacks (BOPs) and a lot of things under water are called sub sea, but they're not buried in the sea bed.
The way they worded it makes it sound like they're drilling 6200 ft. into sea bed.
