As a lifelong Missourian, and former State Capitol intern, I can only say that this only scratches the surface of the meanness and plain stupidity of this woman. I can only say that where I am not usually a fan of term limits, Thank GOD she cannot run again. It's just too bad this is the first time she's gotten national attention or maybe even the ultra-conservatives in her district may have gotten rid of her long before now. They should be embarressed to have let her represent them so long.

I am unfortunately in her district, and can tell you she has been an embarrassement to us. Ms Davis for example stated in her Capitol Report Cynthia Davis stated “While I have not seen this as a problem in my district, it is entirely possible that this program is designed to address problems that exist in other parts of Missouri.”, but the sad thing is that less than 2 miles from her home and business, Back to Basics Christian Bookstore an elementary school (Dardenne Elementary) in her 19th district 37% of the students qualify for the Free Lunch program (NSLP), so not only does Ms Davis not understand the needs of the children in our state she doesn’t understand the needs of the children in her own district.

To add insult to injury, during this past session, Rep. Davis had to be told to bring back all of the BBQ sauce bottles she took to her office from a lunch provided for all of the House members by lobbyists. She probably took the sauce to motivate the other members to pay for their own lunches. She's clever like that.

Colbert Tells Viewers To Deny Rep. Cynthia Davis Food (VIDEO)

Missouri State Representative Cynthia Davis is one tough cookie. Last week she opposed subsidizing school lunches for low income children during summer months saying, "Hunger can be a positive motivator." This is excellent news considering 1 in 5 Missouri kids is living in hunger [ http://feedingamerica.org/our-network/the-studies/~/media/Files/research/child-food-insecurity.ashx ], so that state is due for a productivity boon.

Stephen Colbert tipped his hat to Rep. Davis last night, applauding her decision, but worrying that she never rose above the rank of state representative because she developed the anti-motivating habit of eating. He called on Missourians to help her by denying her food whenever possible. That should give her her edge back.

Colbert went on to wag his finger at Fox News for identifying Mark Sanford as a Democrat in their chyron. He understands that it is a natural response to assume anything bad that happens is the fault of a liberal, but agrees with Peggy Noonan that we should all be blaming one liberal in particular: Bill Clinton.
