Mashery Selects Internap to Assume Managed Server Duties for Premium Customers
Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a global provider of end-to-end Internet business solutions, announced today that it is providing managed server hosting services for Mashery, a cloud-based API (Application Programming Interface) infrastructure management company.
Mashery helps customers to embrace a new distribution channel – one that lets them create thousands of new content partnerships and create an ecosystem out of which new user experiences and revenue opportunities can grow. Thousands of software-driven companies are releasing APIs in order to become Software as a Service (SaaS) providers, either as a primary or secondary line of business. Although every API is different, the infrastructure to manage them includes the same set of challenges for most providers. Adopting Mashery’s developer management and support services allows customers to focus on their core businesses rather than trying to manage the APIs themselves.
Internap’s broad product set, global network presence, and quality-of-service guarantees displaced the incumbent provider of managed server duties for Mashery's Premium Service customers. The company will use Internap’s managed-server infrastructure as a backup solution for both standard and enterprise service customers.

In 2008, Internap expanded its managed-server offering to a global footprint, which was also significant factor in the successful bid for the Mashery business.
