I first want to start out saying that I have spoken with the CEO, Mr. J.D. Brown, and left the phone call very impressed. Although the share price has suffered here a bit in recent history, he took full responsibility for it (he seriously did!) and reassured me the company is now done raising money. The other thing he reiterated is he has no interest in a reverse split.

The other thing that really caught my eye was his instructions to me. He was bluntly upfront with me that he does NOT want any pumping or things of that nature. He is simply excited about the company, and with the exciting things coming in the future, he wants to begin to build some awareness.

With all that being said, let’s dig in…

Brief History and Overview

- founded in 2006 with the expressed purpose of acquiring and operating companies that sell to or distribute products for the retail industry.
- operates in North Wilkesboro, NC.
- owns and operates D&D Displays, Inc. and 1st Choice Closets and Garage

Retail Sector

The retail sector, like everything else, was beaten up badly this past year; however, it has rebounded nicely the past few months. The most encouraging fact is retail sales finally rose in May: the Commerce Department said retail sales rose 0.5 percent in May, interrupting two months of decreases and marking the largest gain since January. Investors watch those numbers because consumer spending accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity…Doug Lockwood, chief investment officer at Cornerstone Wealth Management, said the improvements in sales is a strong signal that the recession may be easing. From a technical analysis standpoint, the RTH (retail sector ETF) has made a nice move, but is currently “resting” like the vast majority of the market.

Company Highlights

- Expo Holdings Inc. does business with many of the fortune 100 companies that we all are familiar with (more can be seen in the “Business Partner” section below)
- The transfer agent (TA) is ungagged – this is a sign of great transparency!

- In my opinion, this is my favorite of everything – huge sign of faith from the management team – The officers of the company have now converted their restricted preferred shares to restricted common shares. – source: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Expo-Holdings-Completes-Share-iw-15358265.html
