Slacker,

You asked in your earlier post;

"Has Brazil announced any finds or predictions for further north on their coast? That would a line better with Gabon and Sao Tome region".

Here is a two article response to that very important question.
(sorry, I no longer have the url of the Upstream article)

Pair to test limits of pre-salt play

Upstreamonline - Monday, 15 September, 2008

Petrobras and StatoilHydro are close to spudding a well on a pioneering offshore wildcat that could extend Brazil’s pre-salt fairway much further north than previously thought.

The operation will be carried out using the Ocean Clipper drillship that recently concluded a mechanical sidetrack on Jupiter well, in Santos basin block BM-S-24.
It is understood that Petrobras will drill a well at the southern end of Block BM-J-3.

“This is theoretically a pre-salt play. The salt may be thinner and patchier up there, so the risk is higher than Santos, but the well is one to watch as it could take the pre-salt province further north,” said a source familiar with the project.

Block BM-J-3 ws acquired in Brazil’s 2002 licencing round and is located of the southern region of Bahia state.........

Then yesterday I found this;

StatoilHydro ASA announced that it and Petrobras have discovered oil on the BM-J-3 block in the Jequitinhonha basin offshore Brazil. Further details were not disclosed.

StatoilHydro ASA has a 40% interest in the block license and Petrobras a 60% interest.

Smells like a tight hole to me.
