Rather than deleting posts this first week, I've chosen to communicate with posters via PM to discourage certain types of posts. In the mean time, I've identified certain patterns that do not further the aim of this board. Therefore, I will start to wield a heavier hand in deleting certain threads and posts.

Please note that you are discouraged from:

1) Posting a series of one sentence posts in the morning simply to catch up on the prior day's discussion. Give us a paragraph or two of your thoughts. But replying to a variety of developed threads from the previous day with your own rapid fire collection of one sentence posts will not be accepted and does not add to the discussion. Develop and articulate a thought in the post, or please refrain from posting until you can spare the time to craft a post.

2) Threads that have degenerated into simple bickering, with both sides saying "you said it, prove it" "no, i don't have to prove that, everyone knows it" "that's what i thought" "yeah whatever" will be terminated. Please bicker by PM.

3) I will be deleting posts that copy and paste articles but do not have a couple of sentences to introduce / interpret the article or have annotated the body of the article to help us understand where you think the emphasis should be. This also goes for news that is redundant. Simply typing "Here goes another one" and copying and pasting a vanilla article about the umpteenth bank going into receivership is discouraged and I will most likely delete it. The NY Times and Wall Street Journal have archives, meaning that articles need not be copied and posted here without accompanying commentary.
