Entrust Earns SC Magazine Accolade in Authentication Group Test

DALLAS, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Entrust (Nasdaq: ENTU - News), Inc., and the award-winning versatile authentication platform, Entrust IdentityGuard, earned five stars and a "recommended" rating in the February 2009 SC Magazine authentication group test.

In SC Magazine's review, Entrust IdentityGuard 9.1 received a five-star overall rating and was hailed as a "nicely integrated platform that provides all the options needed for any small to large enterprise deployment." The group review, which compared products from 11 vendors, evaluated authentication solutions on the merits of features, ease of use, performance, documentation, support and value for the money.

The review referred to Entrust IdentityGuard as a "very strong offering with an attractive price point that provides numerous options." In addition, SC Magazine said, "the Entrust IdentityGuard was very impressive and would be a strong competitor for any enterprise strong authentication and password management project."

The SC Magazine accolades for Entrust IdentityGuard are just the latest in the platform's history that is lauded with success, recommendations and support from the publication -- all based on non-biased, in-depth analysis and comparison. In 2007, SC Magazine named Entrust an "Industry Innovator" for the continued development of Entrust IdentityGuard, which also received the publication's "Best Buy Award" that same year. SC Magazine also named Entrust as a finalist for the "Best Data Security Company" in 2008.

For the full year 2008, Entrust IdentityGuard, in combination with Entrust TransactionGuard, combined for $9.3 million of product revenue, an increase of 70 percent year-over-year.

In December 2008, Entrust IdentityGuard was enhanced with self-service capabilities, which provide streamlined enrollment of new users, a critical process for both enterprise and consumer-based deployments. The solution includes self-service management of existing users, providing Web-based management for activities like resetting passwords, changing question and answers, or activating a one-time-passcode token.

Entrust IdentityGuard enables organizations to layer security -- according to access requirements or the risk of a given transaction -- across diverse users and applications. The platform's authentication options include strong username and password, IP-geolocation, device, questions and answers, out-of-band one-time passcode (delivered via voice, SMS or e-mail), grid cards, eGrid cards and a range of one-time-password tokens. Entrust IdentityGuard also provides multiple methods of supporting mutual authentication, including picture and caption replay.
